AURIOL FLAVELL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS
Established in 2014, the Auriol Flavell Student Scholarship Fund for Young Musicians has provided a total of $40,000 in awards to twenty-seven deserving music students (three of whom have received the award twice and two – three times!). It is our sincere hope to continue to present these monetary awards far into the future for upcoming generations of Maui’s finest young musicians.
These awards are intended for students who are pursuing higher education in the field of music, who play a symphony orchestra instrument, and who plan to promote community orchestras on Maui or wherever they live in the future. Awards are presented annually at the Maui Pops Orchestra’s Spring Pops concert and have ranged from $500 – $2,000 each.
Auriol was a founding member of the Maui Pops Orchestra and continued to be an active board member until her passing in November 2018. While our community has lost one of our most ardent supporters of the performing arts – and especially of talented youth – we are delighted to have our community’s support to continue Auriol’s legacy with this annual scholarship opportunity. We hope you will consider joining other donors in honoring Auriol and encouraging the youth of Maui.
The 2025 application period is now open. Click here to access a fillable application. You may also print and complete by hand. Completed applications and teacher recommendation letters are due February 21st.
Awards will be presented at our March 23rd concert.
